**Job Title: Traffic Control Person (TCP)**
**Location**: Nova Scotia
**Job Type**: Full-time, Temporary/Seasonal
**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Direct and control traffic at construction sites, road closures, or other areas where traffic is being diverted or regulated.
- Ensure that drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists follow established traffic flow patterns and safety instructions.
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices (cones, barriers, signs, etc.) to create safe work zones.
- Communicate effectively with other crew members, motorists, and pedestrians using hand signals, whistles, or two-way radios.
- Report any accidents, hazards, or issues that arise during traffic control operations.
- Assist in setting up road work zones in compliance with traffic safety guidelines and provincial regulations.
- Monitor traffic and adjust traffic flow as necessary to prevent congestion or accidents.
- Work with construction teams to ensure the safety of workers and the public around the work site.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
**Qualifications**:
- Must hold a valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification
- Previous experience in traffic control or construction-related work is required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly give directions and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to stand for long periods, work in all weather conditions, and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving traffic cones and barriers.
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia traffic regulations and safety standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, if needed.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to lift and move objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, etc.).
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
