Linux System Administrator

**We are looking for an Intermediate Linux System Administrator to join our team**

**About the role**:

- Administration of day-to-day activities in a complex site alone or assists in the administration of a large site
- Participate in designing backup/disaster recovery solutions
- Performance management and system configuration tuning
- Remote administration
- Have an innovative approach to create, build, automate and improve the monitoring process and procedures
- Address production/mission critical problems to keep up with SLAs
- Ability to troubleshoot, identify the issue and provide a code fix
- Ability to document troubleshooting and solutions
- Ability to be On-Call (Pager duty) to troubleshoot and handle production issues.
- Identify technical issues & make the appropriate corrections, suggestions to address them
- Work with the team to ensure code delivery processes are followed and respected
- Adhere to procedures in place in relation to incident management, SLA and best practices implemented by the team
- Willingness to participate in our software quality control
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology quickly
- Ability to handle pressure and perform tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Help identify any issues with documentation, procedures, and workflow with feedback during weekly meeting

**About you**:

- You possess very good knowledge of Linux environment (mandatory)
- Experience working in AWS, Azure
- Experience with one or more of the following Linux operating systems - RedHat Enterprise, Suse, Ubuntu, CentOS
- Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS, NIS/NIS+, LDAP, automounter, DNS/BIND, license managers; can use nslookup or dig to check information in DNS and understand basic routing concepts
- Ability to install, upgrade and patch operating systems
- Experience with network storage solutions (e.g. SANS/NAS)
- Experience with host security (e.g. passwords, uids/gids, SIDs, file permissions, ACLs, filesystem integrity, use of security packages)
- Experience with enterprise backup software (e.g. Veem, NetBackup, BackupExec)
- You possess intermediate knowledge of Databases like Oracle and Postgress
- You have knowledge Virtual Machine VMWare
- You have knowledge about monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk or CloudWatch
- You possess very good knowledge of shell scripting and python
- You have basic knowledge of RESTful micro-services and REST APIs
- You possess excellent teamwork skills
- Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Proficiency with developer tools and debugging techniques
- Working knowledge of Git, Jira and Atlassian tools
- Working knowledge of CI/CD approaches and tools
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Proficient in French.

**Additional Requirements**
- Understanding of Web servers (Apache, Tomcat, HTTP)
- Understanding of RAID devices and RAID levels (0,1,2,3,4,5)
- Produce procedural and process documentation
- Demonstrated knowledge of working with JIRA, Confluence, Support ticketing systems
- Knowledge of ITIL processes
