For those living outside the VCM region in one of our approved remote locations across BC, remote work is applicable, with opportunities to visit Destination BC’s Vancouver office once per quarter. **PURPOSE OF POSITION** Reporting to the Manager of Digital Analytics, the Data Scientist plays a critical role in driving the organization's data strategy and ensuring the integrity of sector data resources. The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert data analysis, data design, data modeling, and data quality services. The Data Scientist will develop data architecture, standards, and policies, ensuring data integrity and promoting the management of information as a valuable, sustainable sector asset. In this technical role, the Data Scientist will lead medium to large-scale projects, creating end to end support from data ingestion to professional analyses on tourism economic indicators and marketing web analytics. By implementing components of Destination BC’s Data & Analytics Strategy, the Data Scientist will leverage a strong and strategic understanding of technology and performance data.
