Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn is seeking a dynamic and experienced **Banquet Sales & Service Manager** for a current vacancy to join our team in Cobourg, ON.
**Remuneration negotiable based upon experience Salary amount consists of base salary plus portion of gratuities as collected.**
The **Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre** is Northumberland's only full service location featuring:
~ 104 hotel guest rooms and suites
~ 11,830 square feet of meeting and banquet space in 13 rooms for functions up to 400 people for weddings, conventions, Dinner Theatre productions, Christmas parties, New Year's, etc.
~ Arthur's Pub on site with 166 seats
~ Indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and exercise room
This is a working position which reports directly to the General Manager and works in cooperation with all others in our Management Team. You will be directly responsible for all banquet sales and service activities including but not limited to staffing, training, management of events and guest satisfaction. Target goals, labour, costs, social media, marketing, programs and all other policies to remain consistent with levels monitored by the General Manager.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Prospect, meet and build relationships with corporate, association, group and individual (wedding, etc.) clients
- Coordinate the menu selection and pricing process with the Executive Chef.
- Create, update and finalize function contracts with all clients
- Coordinate all banquet activities, including food and beverage set up and service, seating/floor plan and clean-up.
- Hire, train and schedule banquet staff.
- Coordinate the set-up of banquets by staff.
- Ensure that all events are conducted in a professional manner.
- Ensure that the banquet is well organized and well served to guests while following all AGCO regulations.
- Ensure that the banquet is well stocked with all necessary items.
- Ensure that all banquet space and equipment is cleaned and sanitized after each use.
- Ensure that all banquet equipment is properly stored and maintained according to company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
**REQUIRED SKILLS**:
The Banquet Manager must have, interpersonal, teaching and motivational skills, ability to multi-task required at all times, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, a professional appearance as well as be able to effectively and efficiently work independently with mínimal supervision.
**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, walk, carry, climb stairs, stand for long periods
