Reporting to Manager, Payroll, the **Payroll Analyst** is an instrumental part of the broader team, processing bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees at Sienna Senior Living Inc.
- Providing excellent customer service to Sienna’s 12,000 team members and internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring that all input is received and team member data is verified in the system prior to processing for accuracy in set up based on the classification and related 100 plus collective agreements which drives the applicable pay, deduction and accrual rules.
- Responsible for the integrity of data resulting from input, calculation and setup changes on multiple systems.
- Responsible for processing payroll updates on multiple systems: Ultipro HRIS, UTA, Comvida Scheduling, ADP
- Import time on HRIS, Comvida Scheduling, ADP systems
- Submit time batches for processing on HRIS, Comvida Scheduling, ADP systems
- Create load files and batches to in-house HRIS system as required for payroll processing
- Use Excel pivot tables, calculations formulas and v-look up for validating data prior to load to system.
- Calculate using Excel retro amounts as per multiple union agreements
- Analyze tier 2 requests regarding pay calculations on multiple systems
- Meet with client groups to advise new calculations rules and process
- Validate HRIS payroll calculations using Excel
- Initiate multiple HRIS process steps for payroll processing
- Run multiple BI (Business Intelligence) reports to generate data for processing
- Validate HRIS data outputs through using multiple BI (Business Intelligence) reports
- Liaison with Payroll Operation Manager regarding changes to clients’ data changes
- Co-ordinate payroll processing for 35 + pay-groups on Ultipro HRIS system
- Process Comvida Scheduling payroll data using predefined requirements
- Track and monitor special payments updates and schedules outside the system
- Responsible for numerous exceptions, grandfathered rules outside of the HRIS system
- Test/monitor new updates required by new Union Agreement changes as related to client groups
- Test/monitor new HRIS system upgrades and releases as related to client groups
- Proactively recognizes issues which may have significant impact/service implications, and escalates for action and resolution to the payroll leadership team.
- Assisting in processing frequent union agreement changes including calculations for retroactive payments and premium changes.
- Manage high volume hires, terminations updates on HRIS
- Manage high volume transfers within Sienna’s homes and related data, job, salary, rate, etc.
- Maintaining knowledge of relevant legislative changes to ensure legislative compliance: ESA, CRA, Service Canada, collective agreements, organization policies.
- Analyze and update requirements, e.g. last payments, vacation pay to ROE for Service Canada.
- Liaison and process payroll updates as related to Comvida Scheduling
- Liaison and process payroll updates required for UTA (Ultipro Time & Attendance)
- Provide analysis and solutions to tier 2 tickets high volume.
- Assist and process multiple project related special payments and manually update the HRIS example Pandemic payments
- Performing other duties as assigned.
**Education and Experience**
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance OR Payroll - with demonstrated experience processing cyclical payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Experience processing multi-province payroll is a huge asset
