Radio-Canada News & Current Affairs is seeking a National Reporter for its National Assembly Bureau in Quebec City. In this role, you will provide daily coverage of provincial politics and Quebec issues of national interest.

You must have demonstrated talent for unearthing exclusive news stories in a competitive environment with unpredictable work hours. You must also have an outstanding news sense and story-chasing skills along with a real passion for journalism and politics.

In addition to daily reporting, you will be regularly required to produce original content that resonates with our audiences.

You will file for our national radio/television newscasts and digital platforms and may be required to do live hits on ICI RDI.

You must cover stories with clarity, depth and accuracy and be able to work well on a team while maintaining respectful relationships with your colleagues.

Your reporting must comply with CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.

What you bring:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent- Seven (7) years’ reporting experience- Three (3) years’ experience in Quebec political coverage, an asset

Skills:
- Extensive general knowledge- In-depth knowledge of Quebec and federal politics- Knowledge of the social, political, cultural and economic landscape of the greater Quebec City area and its key players- Able to pitch original angles and story ideas, with a keen interest in developing exclusive reports and good knowledge of the access-to-information request process- Ability to plan, organize and co-ordinate your day-to-day work so as to meet tight deadlines- Able to work well under pressure- Creative, enterprising and inquisitive approach to fact-gathering- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours- Excellent command of French (French-speaking work environment)- Good knowledge of English- Ability to work co-operatively and respectfully with fellow Bureau reporters, producers and technicians- Thorough knowledge and understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices- Practical test- Interview
