**What You Will Do**
- Provide coaching and support on a drop-in basis to clients accessing Carepoint and Counterpoint and document these interactions with clients.
- Through a peer lens, leverage lived experience wisdom, knowledge and expertise with individuals who are at various stages across the addictions continuum
- Provide practical supports for clients in the community, e.g., facilitating access to transportation, food bank, financial assistance, etc.
- Coordinate and facilitate volunteer needle syringe recovery team, including providing orientation and training, directing group in community and maintaining records, as directed.
- Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned.
**What You Will Bring**
- Case management knowledge and skills
- A strong ability to build rapport with participants/professionals and engage with and relate to culturally, linguistically, ethnically, spiritually, racially, and geographically diverse communities.
- Crisis intervention knowledge and skills
- A strong knowledge of community resources and social service agencies in London with the ability to identify and understand intersectional factors that impact the health and wellbeing of diverse communities of people.
- A strong knowledge of hospital systems including systems navigation, local hospital services and policies or procedures related to healthcare in the province of Ontario.
- Knowledge and skills related to working with people who are living with, at risk of or impacted by HIV/HCV; who may be vulnerable and marginalized; and may also be experiencing challenges related to mental health, addictions and homelessness
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to deliver effective conflict resolution and crisis intervention techniques.
- Access to reliable transportation is an asset
- First Aid & CPR, BLS, CPI training considered an asset.
- A satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
