**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
Benchmark International is an Edmonton-based manufacturer. We have a proud 25-year history as both a manufacturer’s representative and a manufacturer. Currently, we manufacture a variety of products including gas separation equipment and environmental monitoring equipment. Our products are used by customers around the world. We have ambitious production targets to satisfy customer demand. It is critical to us that we deliver on our commitments to our customers and that products ship on time and in full. The Warehouse Associate will play an important role in ensuring that our warehouse is well organized in order to effectively add new inventory and access existing inventory to support our product builds.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Supervisor of Business Services, the Warehouse Associate will be relied on to ensure that the warehouse is organized so that all inventory is accessible. The Warehouse Associate will be part of a team that will be responsible for ensuring that goods are properly and accurately received, entered into inventory, stored in an organized manner, accessed according to procedure, and shipped when complete. While the primary focus of this role will be on warehouse organization, the role will also support the Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control functions. This role requires someone who loves working with a team. If you are a naturally organized person and you don’t do well in chaos, this role will appeal to you.
**ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES**
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for keeping the warehouse (particularly the Inventory and Shipping and Receiving areas) organized. The Warehouse Associate has a keen understanding of how an efficient warehouse runs and how that type of warehouse should be set up. This role will be accountable to the Inventory Control and Shipping Receiving teams by ensuring clear and reliable access to parts.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
These are the types of things you can expect to be involved with on a daily basis:
- Organizing and storing incoming goods
- Assist in making approved changes to warehouse layout and storage systems
- Assist with Shipping and/or Receiving as necessary
- Assist with cycle counting of inventory
- Assist with picking orders for staging or shipping
- Assist with packaging orders
- Assist with other projects and tasks as needed
**TYPE OF PERSON**
You are the Marie Kondo of warehousing. If you have to look up the reference, the role may not appeal to you. If your home, your car, your work area is always clean, tidy and organized, this role is for you. If something out of place bothers you and you immediately put it back in its “rightful” place, you’ll be a great fit. If you are a high energy, organized, and detail focused person you will likely do well in this role. As a kid, you were great at Tetris as you found great satisfaction when all the pieces fit perfectly. When you see things that are disorganized, you have a vision for how things should be organized and can bring that vision to life. You work well with others recognizing that whatever the organization looks like, it has to work for multiple stakeholders. Above all, you have a high level of motivation, optimism and are action oriented. We’re looking for a unique mix of skills and if the above description sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Above all else, we are looking for a genuine, committed and enthusiastic person who wants to help us become a company that achieves our ambitious throughput goals to deliver on our customer promises and share in the collective success. It would be great if you had the following experience and qualifications:
- Experience in a warehouse environment in the shipping receiving and inventory areas
- License to operate a forklift
- Strong organizational experience and skills
- Shipping/Receiving experience
- Experience with Inventory Management including cycle counting
