Bird Construction is a leading general contractor in Canada with a long history of service that has offices from coast to coast. Bird’s clients include leading firms in the commercial, institutional, retail, multi-tenant residential, industrial, mining, water and wastewater, energy and civil sectors. This role will be camp based with fly in fly out rotation. Camps are located near Regina and the other near Prince George.
- Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing company project controls program, procedures, and standards.
- Responsible for creating work breakdown structure, and building/maintaining cost and resource loaded schedules in Primavera P6 v19.0 or higher on assigned projects and programs in accordance with the Client's project management processes.
- Responsible for developing baseline Earned Value Management performance controls, and reporting based on the defined project planning strategy.
- Assist with major construction projects, including liaison with Consulting Engineers, Subcontractors, Stakeholders, and Clients.
- Updating project files and producing reports.
- Manage changes and capture progress for accurate reporting.
- Assist in quantity tracking and record historical data.
- Use the output from the scheduling, estimating, and cost analysis reports to monitor forecast and report on overall budget and productivities.
- Review CPM cost and resource loaded schedules created and provided by EPC and third part contractors.
- Provide other technical office support as required.
- What we are looking for
- A technical college diploma or engineering degree coupled with at least 10 years of project controls experience or 10 years of Project Coordinator experience with a focus on project controls experience is required.
- Experience in construction on large infrastructure or civil projects is preferred.
- A general understanding of scheduling principles.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 v19.0 or higher.
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Office with a focus within Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to provide regular feedback working with the Construction and Project Managers will be required.
- Motivated, confident, and possess a getitdone attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization and timemanagement skills; able to multitask efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Able to work well with others in a team environment and contribute to the project team in an efficient, effective and positive manner.
- The ability to work independently to accomplish the tasks assigned.
- Ability to work remotely will be required
