What You’ll Be Doing:
You will be a welcomed leader of the Retirement team driving change in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As General Manager, you will form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the community, where the focus is always on cultivating happiness in daily life.

How You’ll Succeed:
Grow an Environment that Supports Seniors and our Team Members
- We all know that a healthy and supportive environment for residents and team member’s results will result in more stability, less turnover and a much better place to come to work. You will help grow and foster a community where team members are happy to come to work and residents tell their families how much they enjoy living at Court of Laurelwood. We will provide you with all the tools and resources to help make this happen.

Lead Operations and Sales
- Support the residence in day-to-day operations and assist in driving longer-term strategic plans to better the residence. Ensure the brand playbook for operations is integrated into both the community and a part of every resident and team member’s onboarding.
- Be a sales leader in the residence and local community as a champion of initiatives to increase traffic in the residence and ensure the operations team is ready to welcome new residents.
- Embody a servant leadership style that is both responsive and anticipatory to our team and resident needs.
- Direct operational and capital expenditures in line with budgetary guidelines. Assist in developing long-term plans for the residence to keep it fresh and inviting.
- Foster positive community partnerships with health and service providers, business leaders, civic officials, and other community agencies to promote the Residence as a part of the community.

Ensure Compliance with Provincial and Federal Legislation
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure all aspects of risk management are carried out as required. (Fire Drills, Emergency Response Training, Wellness Checks, Regulatory Compliance (RHA, ONA, etc.).
- Seek opportunities to strengthen working relationships with local and provincial health care networks and hospitals.
- Provide oversight and support to the Occupational Health & Safety Committee to ensure it exceeds all legislative requirements.

Who You Are:

- You have a strong desire to support seniors and are passionate about outstanding guest experiences.
- You have progressive management and leadership experience. You are accustomed to growing and leading teams and can demonstrate examples of dynamic team member environments.
- You are a natural sales leader who conveys confidence. You are just as comfortable leading a tour of the residence as you are dealing with a family complaint.
- You possess a strong working knowledge of the Internet and MS Office, Excel and Word

What You Need to Know:

- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
