**Job Summary**
The successful applicant will be expected to exercise sound judgment, excellent communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work individually and as part of the team, executing a high volume of day-to-day HRIS, benefits and pension activities. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality customer service, excellent problem solving and a focus on process improvement initiatives to ensure the success of the department.
**Skills & Abilities**

- Past experience working in and HRIS and/or payroll system preferred.

**Qualifications**
- Successful completion of a college diploma in Human Resources Management from an accredited educational institution or equivalent recent and related training and experience may also be considered.
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent and related Human Resources experience preferably working within a unionized healthcare environment with the emphasis on HRIS, employee benefits, pension and compensation experience.
- Advanced technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- HRIS experience (Meditech) an asset

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Review, enter and validate employee data into various HR Systems, including but not limited to entering new hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance appraisal tracking, etc.
- Respond to inquiries and update all changes required to Benefit coverage and Pension membership within specified timelines
- Actively participate in improvement initiatives and HRIS implementation.
- Respond to inquiries regarding retirement for all employee groups as well as process retirements that includes life insurance conversion, benefits continuation options and all related communication.
- Create and maintain employee files in accordance with policies and procedures
- Responsible for data integrity of employee information entered in Meditech
- Participate and complete various Total Reward surveys and provide reports as required
- Respond to various inquiries from team members, managers, employees and retirees on all matters related to Total Rewards
- Update and maintain various Total Reward spreadsheets as well as produce reports.
- Assist and support various Total Reward Projects as required
- Ensures the workflow processes are efficient and in compliance with Southlake’s policies and procedures as well as maintain knowledge of federal and provincial employment laws
