**About the Company**

The Maritime Centre for African Dance (MCAD), formed in 2005, is an organization dedicated to teaching, sharing and promoting African Culture through the art of dance, to youth and adults across Nova Scotia and Canada. To date, MCAD has taught well over 20000 children and adults in schools, community centers, camps and programs. This number is ever-increasing. This organization was formed out of a necessity for the lack of cultural representation in the form of traditional dance in Nova Scotia. It is a collective of different individuals from Africa who are trained in traditional dance and range from the South, North, West and East of Africa.

**Summary**

We are looking to hire a passionate Cultural Educator to join our team. You will be responsible for teaching and training a dynamic group of students in a range of techniques and dance styles, ensuring that all students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve their goals in their chosen area of dance. Some dance experience would be an asset.

**Key Duties**
- Ability to teach using various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
- Develop dance curriculums and prepare lesson plans.
- Ability to communicate with diverse groups of teachers and students
- Choreograph routines and select music for the class
- Provide a fun and creative environment
- Keep up to date in your discipline and implement any changes to the routine and curriculum as needed

**Qualification, Skills, and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree with the flexibility to work any full day in a week
- Previous teaching experience will be an asset
- Needs to have knowledge of African cultural dance, rhythm & beats
- Should have Excellent communication skills
- Should be Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable
- Should Demonstrate patience and leadership skills
- Attend mandatory meetings, training, and events

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:
