Garbage Collection

**Job Description & Responsibilities**:
Victoria Contracting & Municipal Maintenance (VCMMC) is looking for a Full-time garbage collector to complete our garbage route.

VCMMC is a privately-owned company that specialize_s_ in providing Municipal Landscape, Roads Maintenance and Landscape/Civil Construction Services for its respective clients. **Responsibilities**:

- Unload garbage cans and replace liners, following a pre-planned route
- Pick up dumped garbage as requested by various municipalities
- Collection of deceased animals on, or near roadways
- Take loads to landfills or recycling depots as required
- Fill out required paper work to track daily activities in a neat and organized fashion
- Maintaining a professional appearance and dealing with the public in a courteous and respectful manner at all times

**Qualifications**:

- Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract
- Ability to operate vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
- Strong communication skills, specifically the ability to convey information effectively
- Strong active listening skills, specifically taking directions and putting them into action
- Attention to detail in regards to paperwork and materials tracking

**Working Conditions**:
This job is physically demanding and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. The applicant must be able to stand/kneel for extended periods of time, lift and carry heavy objects, and do repetitive tasks.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
