The Shop Worker at DMS Hydronic Mechanical Systems Ltd. will assist the fabrication team in the day-to-day operations of our mechanical shop. Working under the guidance of Shop Fabricators and Fabrication Shop Supervisor, the Shop Worker will help with material handling, organization, cleaning, and fabrication prep across various shop areas including plumbing, steel, cast iron, and mechanical skid sections. This is a full-time position based at the DMS Fabrication Shop located in Burnaby, BC, following a Monday to Friday schedule.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist Shop Fabricators with preparing materials and components for plumbing, steel, cast iron, and mechanical skid assemblies including but not limited to cutting pipe, pipe end prep, grinding, grooving, welding preparation, and fitting of various assemblies.
- Help with receiving and organizing materials in the shop.
- Clean and maintain work areas, stations, tools, and equipment.
- Assist in loading and unloading deliveries and preparing materials for transport to job sites.
- Organize and stock materials in designated storage areas and bins.
- Ensure waste and scrap materials are properly disposed of in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.
- Support the team in keeping the shop clean, orderly, and safe.
- Perform general labour and tasks as assigned by the Fabrication Shop Supervisor.

**Requirements**:

- Basic knowledge of mechanical and plumbing components.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools and shop environments.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the day.
- Safety-conscious mindset and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or construction environment is an asset, but not required.
