- 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year Apprentices and Journeyman Insulators
- Journeyman level **MUST** be ticketed
- Long term employment - approx. 1 year +
- 5x8s schedule, OT available when applicable
- Work based at Vancouver shipyards in North Vancouver
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (e.g. calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass, armflex) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g. duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
- Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation (e.g. pin welding, wiring, banding, taping) according to the type and shape of surface, whether or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.
- Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimension, as well as fitting insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- All level Apprentices, Journeyman Insulators **MUST** be ticketed.
- CSTS 2020, Fall Protection, and Confined Space certifications required.
- Ability to read and understand blue prints, P&ID’s, piping insulation specifications.
**This position is a union position.**
Pay: $19.70-$45.57 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
Work Location: In person
