Quality Control Inspector

**Position Summary**

The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for ensuring all projects follow company and quality control guidelines established by the company and QC/project specifications.

**Key Responsibilities**

The general responsibilities for this position are as follows:

- Insure a complete understanding of project mechanical drawings and Inspection and Test plans for the following inspection purposes:
1. Visual and dimensional inspections in accordance with CSA W59 and ASME B31.3 as set out in company QC program

2. Complete weld mapping and required RT shot count on a per project basis

3. Organize/complete material traceability and QC project file requirements from receiving through to final shipment

4. Initiate, complete and report sand blast, primer and paint inspections
- Monitor and complete Chamco QC Checklists and Inspection and Test Plans complete with photos
- Responsible for coordinating third party inspection plans
- Perform supplier general inspections and witness/hold point on behalf of Chamco as required
- Responsible for continued compliance with ABSA, CWB, AWS & other applicable codes and certificates. Responsibilities include liaising with inspectors & auditors
- Assist in documenting and maintaining department processes, equipment and welder logs, and etc. to meet code and certification body requirements
- Coordinate NCR process thru completion for production, projects, QC
- Coordinate updates to form templates, procedures, and manual sections as needed
- Attend all required customer/ internal meetings
- Various other tasks and responsibilities as requested
- Follow and support all company policies, procedures and initiatives
- Attend courses as required

**Qualifications Required**
- Certified Level I Inspector in CSAW47.1, CSA W59 & ASME B31.3, and/ or:

- Certified Welding Supervisor
- Valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate
- Welding Engineering Technologist
- Certified Welding Inspector to AWS D1.1
- Successfully completed recognized courses in the fundamental principles and practices of welding, quality control and welding inspection
- Practical experience in welding or inspection, including experience in a combination of the following areas:
1. Layout & fitting2. Manual or semi-automatic welding3. Welding inspection / testing4. Welding supervision / instruction5. Weld designing or detailing6. Welding fabrication planning
- Skilled in Microsoft Office
- A strong customer focus
- Ability to be a team player

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- QA/QC: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Certified Lvl 1 Inspector CSAW47.1, CSA W59 & ASME B31.3 (preferred)
- Welding Certification (preferred)
