We are seeking a motivated and passionate Baker Assistant to join our team at a local bakery. As a Baker Assistant, you will assist the head baker in producing high-quality baked goods that satisfy our customers' tastes and preferences. You will work closely with our team to ensure that we are meeting the demands of our customers while maintaining the quality of our products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting in the preparation of doughs and batters for bread, pastries, and other baked goods.
- Measuring and mixing ingredients to form doughs and batters.
- Rolling, cutting, and shaping doughs to create baked goods.
- Operating and maintaining commercial baking equipment.
- Baking and cooking bread, pastries, and other goods in commercial ovens.
- Decorating and finishing baked goods.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborating with the rest of the team to ensure that all orders are fulfilled on time and to the highest quality.
- Assisting with packaging and labeling baked goods for sale.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a bakery setting.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work early mornings and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON L5G 1H3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Baking: 1 year (preferred)
- Food handling: 1 year (preferred)
- Food preparation: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
