Landfill Operator

The Landfill Operator will be responsible to run the landfill as per Saskatchewan Environment regulations as listed in the Permit to Operate a Waste Disposal Ground and the Town of Wynyard’s Waste Disposal Grounds Operation Plan. Specific duties will be to maintain the landfill building, maintain and operate the landfill equipment, control access, inspect and log all loads of refuse entering the facility, cover the pit as per regulations, maintain the grounds and write any required reports.

Duties will begin as soon as possible upon hiring. Duties may be modified over time to include working in the Public Works Department depending on hours and days of operation of the landfill as set by Town Council.

Preference given to applicants that possess:

- Mechanical skills,
- Strong communication skills,
- Strong record keeping skills,
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently,
- A valid Class 5 drivers license is mandatory (Class 3A is an asset).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Wynyard, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
