We’re CAAT Pension Plan, and we’re growing. We innovate defined benefit (DB) pension plans. What are they? The **Lead, Pension Education** works closely with the Team Lead, Education and other members of the Education
Team to educate prospective/new employers/members on the features and value of the CAAT Pension Plan (and of defined benefit pension plan mergers with CAAT) by delivering energetic, engaging group information sessions, either virtually or in person.
**We are looking for someone with the following attributes**:
- Ability to understand business strategies and needs to independently research and share knowledge with the Education Team with the goal to develop knowledge resources in support of educational programs
- Visionary and creative in ways to present information and educate
- Excellent judgement, team player, thorough, logical and respectful
- Ability to maintain focus on the main goal and understand the strategy to keep the Education Team on an excellence path
- Ease to recognise and discuss blind spots in a respectful manner
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Committed to lifelong learning and sharing of knowledge
- Ability to develop a thorough understanding of all Plan provisions in order to assist in creation and delivery of consent voting/participation content to the Plan’s target audiences: potential members, potential employers and active members, retirees and employers
- Excellent public speaking and written communication skills required
- Ability to interact well with members and employers at different levels and in different industries
- Analytical skills are required, as well as attention to detail, a mathematical aptitude, excellent problem solving and time management skills
- Ability to demonstrate, support, and promote the CAAT values of integrity, teamwork, and the pillars of our organizational culture, including respect and trust, energy and optimism, open communication, growth, and well-being
- College Diploma or University Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in adult education/training
- Fluency in business French would be an asset
- At least 10 years of experience in pension, specially defined benefit pension and/or jointly sponsored pension plans, policies and provisions, with a focus on leading training initiatives, adult learning, training plans, user materials and interactive modules
- Completion or progress towards CEBS, PPAC, CFP or CBP designations
- A strong understanding of defined benefit pension plans and the risks and the challenges they face
- Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite (MS 365 is preferred)
- Familiarity with online platforms to deliver presentations and extract data and/or willingness to learn
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is needed; travel within Canada may be required
- Not opposed to occasional lifting and carrying of display booths and handout material
**Once here you will**:
- Work closely with the Team Lead, Education to lead the design, development, and delivery of education sessions in support of CAAT’s growth strategy
- Deliver ongoing programs in ways that best suits the audience and topic to support business development processes and decision support activities
- Actively engage stakeholders in enhancing the training programs and identifying key areas for training opportunities; collaborating with them on progress and support needed
- Develop and deliver presentations about CAAT to educate employers, unions and employee groups, and support the Pension Solutions team’s business development, decision support and onboarding activities
- Establish a thorough understanding of Plan provisions, and be able to explain them simply and clearly
- Deliver member presentations online and on-site at employer and/or union locations, and participate in member one-on-one sessions as requested
