**Opportunity**:
MacEwan University is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist, Student Recruitment for a full-time continuing opportunity with the Office of the University Registrar.
Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Admissions, Recruitment and Transfer, and working in close partnership with the Office of Communications and Marketing, you will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of marketing and communications initiatives and projects that promote, support and advance both International and domestic recruitment goals, image, and reputation to select internal and external audiences. You will play an important role in the planning & development of communications and marketing projects and strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, editing, and/or proofreading communication copy for various media, including the blog posts, podcasts, newsletters, department publications, OUR social media channels, and the MacEwan website (for review by Web Services), for both print and digital platforms;
- Developing compelling communications strategies and working with OCM/WS to produce support materials, including posters, brochures, postcards, signage, infographics, newsletters, presentations, and social media to inspire and engage, tailored to various countries and/or provinces in Canada;
- In collaboration with Web Services, providing updates and content of relevant sections of the website to address both internal and external stakeholder needs; Adhering to the visual and branding guidelines of the institution and collaborating with OCM and Web Services to ensure alignment;
- Conducting environmental scans, content audits, competitive analyses, gap analyses, or other research to ensure departmental objectives are being met;
- Researching target regions to understand localized unwritten rules, cultural considerations and nuances that dictate how prospective applicants will read and interpret promotional materials; using this information to inform content development;
- Researching new technologies and social media opportunities to inform decision-making and to keep current with industry best practices and target countries practices/preferences, ensuring any new social media approaches/technologies align with OCM guidelines and standards;
- Creating high-quality, engaging and relevant content for OUR social media platforms in Canada and abroad (i.e., LinkedIn, Facebook, WeChat, and X);
- Adhering to the marketing/communications guidelines of the institution (visual, brand, voice/tone, social media, video, etc.) and collaborating with the Office of Communications and Marketing and Web Services to ensure alignment; and
- Updating, monitoring and responding to comments, questions and feedback on International and Domestic Recruitment social media accounts in a timely manner; escalating any contentious feedback to respective Director/Assistant Registrar for approval prior to responding.
