**About In Situ Archaeology**

At In Situ, we pride ourselves on doing things differently, creating a unique experience for our whole team. Here are some of the key things that sets us apart:
**We put consultation first**:Our mandate is to prioritize consultation; we believe in providing visibility to all stakeholders on their responsibility to affected First Nations in the early stages. To further support this mandate, In Situ only takes on projects that affected First Nations do not oppose.

**Year-Round Operations**:Unlike typical seasonal employment in archaeology, our firm operates year-round (it almost never snows on the Coast, although if you love the snow, you can find it only a ten-minute drive up the mountain). We carefully scale our operations to ensure consistent and predictable work for our entire team throughout the year.

**Local Focus**: Our team is focussed on studying the archaeological record of Coastal BC. Contributing to a deeper understanding of the local archaeological record brings value to the communities we live in and work alongside. As a bonus, staying local means no lengthy remote shifts - we're home by dinner time

**Relationships Over Competition**: The relationships we’ve built are important to us - not just client relationships, but collaborations with our partner firms. Collaboration is important and we love to work and learn alongside our partner firms supporting each other, and getting things done efficiently and effectively.
