Burton Industries Inc. is a telecommunications civil construction contractor specializing in horizontal directional drilling.

We are seeking a HydroVac operator to assist our Directional Drill crews. This is a job that requires physical fitness. It is fast paced requires attention to detail, a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

**What You Will be Doing**:
Assisting directional drilling crews by daylighting underground utilities to allow safe installation of new underground utilities.

Keep site lead current on the status of any issue(s) that may have an impact on the work being performed.

Conduct and participate in field level safety meetings, tool box talks, and health and safety informational awareness.

Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules.

Ensure equipment appearance is maintained to Burton standards

Ability to perform other routine maintenance work as required

Operation of other equipment will also be required in the job. Mini excavator and skid steer experience, telecommunications construction placing vaults, placing conduit and installing drops are great skills to have but not necessary.

Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
What You Need to Succeed:
Valid Drivers' License with airbrakes and good driver's abstract.

No criminal history involving violence, fraud or theft

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities

Willing to travel, work extended hours in all weather conditions.

Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, ethics, confidence and a commitment to a team approach. Ability to work with mínimal supervision.

Ability to work efficiently and independently with strong attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills.

Must be able to lift 50lbs

**Nice to have**:
Class 1A or air brake endorsement

Experience in a telecom or utilities environment

Experience running construction or earthworks equipment

Additional safety training certifications. ie) ground disturbance, confined space, etc

Ability to perform minor mechanical maintenance
