**Responsibilities**:
1. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and respite.
2. Assess the environment for safety during each patient visit
3. Treat patients with compassion and respect
4. Use judgment in carrying out instructions and recognize the need to seek supervisory assistance
Report/communicate observations or concerns to the appropriate individual(s), as necessary
5. Keep all patient information confidential
6. Work as a team with other health care professionals and service providers
**Qualifications**:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
3. Ability to speak a second language is considered an asset
4. Ability to travel between assignments either by transit or car
**Must meet one of the following criteria**:
1. Successful completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a Community College or a school approved by the National Association of Career Colleges (Will be considered as an asset)
2. RN, RPN, with successful completion of Year 1 OR more. (Will be considered as an asset)
3. Holds a valid certificate as a Home Support Worker (level II or III), Health Care Aide, or Personal Attendant or Holds a valid certificate as a Developmental Support Worker. (Will be considered as an asset)
4. Experience working as a Community PSW is considered an asset
**Requirements**:
1. Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray
2. Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid Certificate
3. Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act
5. Vaccination Report Required
**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- On call
- Weekend availability
