As a Bartender at Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, you will be a welcome addition to our Beverage Community. Whether you are positioned in the heart of our lobby or high above with a stunning view of Toronto, it will be you who establishes the guests’ first impression as you set the tone and expectation for what is about to come.
You will be engaging with guests on a personal level while building their trust in you and Sheraton. As a Beverage Artist you are trained as a Barista and skilled in Mixology and it shows You will be the one to assure our guests that they will receive quality service, delivered through your expertise, as you seamlessly guide them through the beverage experience. We encourage you to welcome, inspire and delight each guest as you express genuine hospitality and reveal your creativity through the mastery of your craft.
The Sheraton Centre Toronto Bartender is a professional well versed in the culinary art of crafting cocktails and coffee beverages. They will be expected to utilize their extensive knowledge of the history and origins of ingredients and their ability to understand flavor profiles, to develop palate pleasing beverages. The associates in this role have studied and committed to memory most major classic and cocktail combinations, wine growing and varietal details, beer brewing and fermentation processes, coffee recipes, blend and roasting notes.
The Mixologist/Barista style of service is engaging while looking for the opportunity to entertain and educate. They will speak informatively about the space, history and interior features of the hotel utilizing their strong presentation skills. The associate will require a strong ability to read guest cues to understand the experience the guest desires.
**Competencies**
- Passion for Guest Experience: provides exemplary guest service and builds relationships with guests/members by showcasing a strong ability to anticipate guests needs through reading verbal or non-verbal cues while also preparing and delivering quality food and beverage products
- Outgoing & Sociable: has a natural ability to spark casual conversations, can read the “mood” of the room and adapt their personality (ex. upbeat vs. contemplative) in order to create an enjoyable atmosphere where guests feel comfortable in their ‘home away from home’

- Speed & Efficiency: can confidently and quickly respond to guest requests by prioritizing tasks appropriately between execution and operational tasks; leveraging strong product knowledge and cocktail/coffee crafting skills to deliver orders in a timely manner, all while maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Salesmanship: can speak informatively and intelligently about our food and beverage offerings, as well as hotel amenities and member benefits, as a way of leading guests towards a decision that will satisfy their wants and needs at that moment; this includes and is not limited to topics of interest regarding the history, stories behind, product identification or distinction of spirits, wine, beer and/or coffee
**Bartender Key Roles**
- Welcome guests with eye contact being warm, approachable, enthusiastic, professional, and hospitable
- Establish strong rapport with guests and preserve excellent levels of service while identifying guests needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
- Provide specific suggestions/recommendations for food and beverages based on the preferences of each guest
- Comfortable engaging with guests while preparing orders or crafting beverages; adding personal flair and finesse in execution to create air of intrigue and wonder
- Possesses a sincere attitude to be of service to others with a desire to succeed
- Ensure food and beverages are presented with exceptional level of detail prior to delivering to guests
- Ensure every guest leaves wanting to return by providing an exceptional experience that delivers on the Sheraton Service Promise
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Respond to guest inquiries regarding food and beverage offerings available throughout the day, as well as from other outlets within the hotel - be able to relate all information in an appealing and informative manner to all guests
- Familiarized with hotel amenities and knowledgeable about historical facts or stories related to the Sheraton, and areas of interest in the GTA
- Table/Bar Service - welcoming guests, taking orders, answering menu and beverage inquiries, explaining signature items, placing orders, table/bar maintenance and menu execution
