**Length of Term: Seasonal employment for 9 weeks, Full time**

**Job Type: Fixed term contract**

**Estimated Hours per week: 30 h/ week**

**Pay: $17.00 per hour**

**Role**:
**Position Summary**:
Leisure Program Leaders are integral to and play a pivotal role for the successful execution of various types of events, ranging from festivals, parties, conferences, meetings to weddings. They are responsible for a wide variety of tasks before, during, and after an event or venue rental. They will assist with planning, developing and delivering cultural programming. Help at major summer festivals

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
v Provide exceptional customer service at all functions and events and act as the main customer service contact for all guests

v Maintain the public image of the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association in a professional and courteous manner

v Maintaining facility cleanliness and hygiene at all times. Ensuring all event facilities are clean and well-maintained and assisting with facility maintenance and cleaning tasks to keep standards high at all times outside of regular business hours

v Preparation of venue space with tables - chairs, staging and operating cash & Square Point of Sale device when necessary. Setting up and dismantling event spaces, ensuring they are ready for use

v Address attendees’ queries promptly and professionally

v Handling event emergencies and issues promptly

v Ensuring the event adheres to applicable safety and health regulations

v Use of small cleaning equipment as necessary

v Assisting with any other duties for office and facility management as per organizational needs.

v Managing technical and sound equipment as needed by clients

v Managing flow of guest and vendors in and out of the facility

v Work as a member of the team of other assistants or as an individual when required

**Dress Code Adherence**:
This position will require a business casual attire at all times. This is a hybrid mix of business professional and casual wear. A mixing of elements of a more formal business wear. This includes:

- Dark pants-no jeans
- Jacket or cardigan
- Blouse or long/short sleeve shirt (nothing sleeveless)
- Closed toe shoes / sneakers

**Qualifications & Skills**:
v Post-secondary education

v Excellent written, and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills

v Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure

v Professional demeanor

v Ability to work independently with mínimal direction

v Experience with facility cleaning including use of auto-scrubber, replacing of industrial paper towel and toilet paper

v Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

v Must have reliable transportation to be available for shifts at the Multicultural Centre and festival venues.

v Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure

v Flexible for week day evening, weekend and on call shifts as needed

v Decision making skills

v Ability to multi-task quickly and change direction and independently prioritize work in order to support

v Alberta Drivers license or equivalent required.

v Experience in customer service

**Asset Qualifications**:
Pursuing a bachelors degree with courses in digital media, marketing, computers, business administration, social science, arts and culture or any other related fields.

Pro-serve certification (current)

Standard First Aid and CPR certification

Food Handling Safety certification

WHMIS training

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training

Graphic design, photo and video editing skills

Photography talent

Content creation and social media marketing skills

Digital literacy
