**About Us**:
The Department of Biology is the largest academic unit within the Faculty of Science. The major foci within the department is namely scientific research, graduate, undergraduate and public education. The Department seeks to find a better working balance between the development and strengthening of its research enterprise and the maintenance of its strong undergraduate program seeking to enhance and strengthen its graduate program and make meaningful contributions to existing and future collaborative programs that fall within its sphere of influence and interest. The Department is housed in six main buildings (B&GS, WSC, Collip, NCB, AFAR, and Biotron).
**Course Information**:
An introduction to the use of molecular tools in addressing both basic and applied questions in ecological research, including population, behavioural, community and ecosystem ecology. Lectures and student-led seminars develop basic knowledge and theory underlying molecular ecology, and present many recent case studies from the primary literature.
NOTE: This is a 0.50 FCE course teaching load.
It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that they are available to teach during the times allocated for the courses for which they are interested in applying.
**Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
**Qualifications**:
In accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications, including qualifications which go beyond the requirements for the position. Applicants should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
