**ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE**
The Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) is a key member of the company’s executive team. Reporting to and providing strategic guidance to the President and the Board of Directors, the CFO has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, executing, overseeing and analyzing all financial matters, including property and entity-level reporting and forecasting, treasury, tax, balance sheet management, internal control and financial systems. In addition the CFO is responsible for leading and directing the information technology policies and practices for the Company. The CFO is not only a technical resource in the area of finance but also a collaborative leader with demonstrated project management skills and a compelling vision for what the finance function can achieve through improvements in effectiveness and the employment of best practices.
**BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education, Experience and Specific Skills**
- Professional Accounting designation (CPA or CA).
- A minimum of 10 years’ management experience, preferably in a multi-unit business in health care or hospitality.
- Experience negotiating with lenders, insurance brokers and other service providers.
- Experience liaising with an Audit Committee Chair and presenting to a Board of Directors.
- Expert skills and self-sufficiency in Microsoft Excel, competent in other Microsoft Office products, and strong technological proficiency and capability with accounting systems (eg. Oracle, etc).
- Responsible for compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other related regulatory requirements and reporting, with respect to financial management matters.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including compelling and professional presentation skills. An energetic and collaborative management style, able to skillfully negotiate with and manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while managing and coaching staff.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Leading the financial, accounting, and reporting systems for multiple entities, over 30 Residences, and corporate reporting. Preparing and presenting multiple ownerships and Board reports.
- Oversees corporate modeling and long-range financial projections.
- Oversees the accounting staff in their development and refinement of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
- Oversees and manages operational and cash flow forecasting, cash management, treasury matters, bank reporting and covenant calculations.
- Leads the annual business plan development and budgeting process.
- Continually assesses and improves the company’s risk management and internal control framework, advising the President and the Audit Committee of issues and opportunities related thereto.
- Leads the company’s annual insurance renewal effort.
- Prepares and presents materials for the Audit Committee, serving as the Chair’s primary point of contact.
- Leads, with the company’s tax advisor, the development and maintenance of tax planning and forecasting; advising the President and the Board of issues and opportunities related thereto.
- Assists in the analysis and completion of potential investments and other corporate developments. Manages the company’s balance sheet, directing and executing property and corporate financings.
- Manages the company’s financial systems maximizing their effectiveness and improving their efficiency.
- Oversees and manages financial reporting portion of investor relations including tax reporting.
- Oversees information technology including mapping the IT strategy and policies of the organization.
- Leads the oversight of IT risk to the organization including cyber-security. Establishes the procurement standards and the purchase of IT systems.
Develops short-term and long-term strategic goals for financial function and information technology.
Continuously monitors best practices to determine how the company’s finance function and IT can operate more effectively and efficiently.
Ensures financial staff and IT have appropriate training and re-training opportunities to support department goals.
