Principal Consultant, Risk

THE ROLE*
The Principal Consultant (Risk & Engineering) is an ideal opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert in Risk and Reliability support, Engineering Assessments, and Regulatory & Compliance.
Reporting to the Director, Risk & Engineering, they lead engineering studies and investigations and work with our project teams to prepare and present findings and recommendations to our clients’ senior leadership.

**WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO AS A PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT (RISK & ENGINEERING)**
- Perform technical assessments in the areas of pipeline integrity and risk management
- Produce high-quality technical reports
- Actively participate in the preparation of proposals, budgets, bids, and contracts
- Provide technical review and approval of the work of others
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry advancements
- Lead client engagements, acting as the client’s trusted advisor, ensuring the technical requirements of the engagement are fulfilled using both internal and external resources
- Maintain and improve the technical standards of our engineering projects and consulting services
- Identify and develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by our Team Members to successfully meet our client’s expectations
- Provide input into the development and implementation of policies, standards, and procedures guiding the engineering and technical work performed in the department
- Contribute to creating company awareness and identifying client opportunities
- As required, contribute to the successful resolution of client issues
- Act as a thought leader on behalf of Dynamic Risk

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**
- A minimum of fifteen years’ experience in a technical role, with at least ten years’ experience in pipeline integrity management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, chemical, metallurgical, or civil engineering or in a related technical field
- A P.Eng. or PE designation is preferred
- Exposure to multi-disciplinary environments involving engineering, science, and technology
- Highly developed critical thinking skills necessary to produce sound assessments
- Effective technical writing skills needed to clearly articulate assessment processes and results
- Strong knowledge of the oil & gas pipeline industry
- An excellent understanding of current engineering principles and trends in pipeline integrity management
- Proven experience in a consulting environment
- Demonstrated project and team leadership experience
