In this role, the QA/QC assistant ensure that all customers receive the highest quality products every time by assisting the Quality Control Supervisor in the implementation and continuous improvement of the QA/QC program.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday

8-hour shifts (40 hours per week)

Daytime Shift 7:30am-4:00pm

Overtime Pay (Occasional opportunity for overtime in accordance with Alberta Labour Standards)

Do you have what it takes?

To enforce the QA/QC Program & facilitate proper execution of Production procedures- Coordinating and executing product and process inspections on all areas of Production, which includes but is not limited to: All material fabrication, Shipping and Receiving of materials, and Production Coordination-
- Accurately recording and submitting all inspections and related documentation in a prompt manner to the QC-
- Accurately, clearly and effectively communicating details of all non-conformances and procedural breakdowns to the QC via verbal and written reportage-
- Inspecting all orders picked from stock, to ensure quality and correctness-
- Cross-training in the capacity of Production Coordinator for inspection purposes-
- Promoting compliance to the QA/QC guidelines within Production through education and supportSkills and Attributes:
- Perceptiveness; an eye for quality and the ability to discern with confidence-
- Ability to supervise individuals and provide judgement and guidance-
- Ability to use several measuring instruments and photographic devices-
- Decisiveness; the ability to look at the facts and make appropriate and timely decisions-
- Excellent mathematical, problem-solving, reasoning and deductive skills-
- Ability to take direction and maintain focus- To assist in developing and evolving the QA/QC Program- Assisting the QC in developing, implementing and evaluating improvement plans- Introducing new or suggesting revisions to existing procedures within the production department to improve efficiency and quality- Helping the QC develop product standards for all materials- Inspecting, gathering and recording data for all materials coming in, and helping the QC to evaluate the quality of incoming materials and vendors- Identifying rejected material and writing up Material Quality Reports for vendor claims- Reporting to the QC on the effectiveness of the current QA/QC Program, as well as any inefficiencies in the program, through regular meetings and debriefs- Gaining a clear understanding of all aspects of Production through hands-on cross-training for education, inspection, and process improvement purposes-
- Assisting the QC in creating and implementing a Quality Management System training program- Skills and Attributes:
- Adaptability; ability to test new procedures, software and equipment-
- English language proficiency; strong communication and reporting skills-
- Inquisitive nature; ability to ask guiding questions in order to discover avenues for improvement-
- Good understanding of products and the manufacturing process- To assist in improving the use of materials and the accurate maintenance of inventory in the Production departmentFacilitating the strategic use of Overstock, Endrolls and Slow-Moving Inventory for daily orders through maintenance of physical overstock inventory and electronic catalogue-
- Assisting with weekly cycle counts and performing second or third counts on materials as necessary-
- Performing spontaneous inventory inspections to ensure bin locations are being maintained according to standards and inventory quantities are accurate-
- Monitoring red flagged and quarantined items and following up until a resolution is reached-
- Assist the QC Supervisor in evaluating and proposing changes to bin locations in order to improve efficiency and reduce non-conformancesSkills and Attributes:
