Platform Operator

We are currently seeking **UT Platform Operators (CGSB UT 1)** to support outage work for a PAUT project starting in August for a client in Tiverton, Ontario.

Intech International Inc. is a leading supplier of specialized non-destructive examination (NDE), maintenance, and staff augmentation services. Centrally based in Ontario, our expert team of experienced and certified technicians and engineers provide advanced and conventional NDE and related solutions to the nuclear industry, in conjunction with the latest in inspection equipment technology.

  • Tiverton, Ontario (execution)

**Duration**

  • End of August to mid-October

**Responsibilities**

  • Deliver ultrasonic and mechanical tooling to inspection sites on reactor face.
  • Use of procedures to drive the inspection.
  • Provide clear communication (3-Way) and instruction through headsets with remote operators completing inspections in radiological areas.
  • Follow instructions from operators and provide clear and concise communication over headsets while performing inspections inside radiological areas.
  • Assist in calibration of UT equipment.
  • Assist in installing FME barriers around inspection sites.
  • Assist in installing mechanical tools such as spreaders, wedges, and guides to support UT tooling.
  • Follow stringent safety and FME protocols.
  • Perform integrity checks on all tooling entering the inspection area.
  • Assist in troubleshooting tooling when issues arise.

**Qualifications**

  • CGSB UT 1 certification is **required**.
  • Nuclear experience preferred.
  • Experience with ultrasonic equipment.
  • Experience working in a radiological environment - all work will be located inside the reactor building. This involves working in a rubberized, aspirated suit and receiving occupational dose.
  • Ability to lift tools up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces of varying temperatures.
  • Comfortable working 12-hour or longer shifts on days or nights.
  • Valid Site Access clearance for OPG or Bruce Power is **required**(if OPG only, an inter-utility transfer will need to be completed).
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
  • Practice of good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality of sensitive information regarding department activities.
  • Sharp attention to detail with the ability to anticipate problems to prevent delays and ensure success of the project.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and various levels of management.
