Advance Your Career with Mariner Brewing

Mariner Brewing is more than a taproom — we’re a cornerstone of Coquitlam’s growing craft beer scene. As the first craft brewery in the city, we’ve built a reputation for innovation, quality, and community connection. Our team is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences through top-tier service, engaging events, and great beer.

We’re currently seeking an ambitious **Taproom Manager** who wants more than just a job — someone ready to take the next step in their **hospitality leadership career** by driving operations, developing a high-performing team, and helping shape the future of one of Metro Vancouver’s most community-focused breweries.

The Opportunity

As Taproom Manager, you’ll take the reins of our **front-of-house operations** and serve as a key partner to ownership. You’ll be hands-on in service while also influencing guest experience, building systems, mentoring staff, and supporting the business as it grows.

This is a **career-track role** for someone looking to develop in hospitality, leadership, or business operations — and who thrives in high-energy environments, especially on **Fridays and Saturdays**, our busiest and most vibrant days.

**Leadership & Service Excellence**
- Lead the FOH team during service as a working manager — modeling warm, attentive, and consistent hospitality.
- Train, mentor, and coach team members for performance and growth.
- Bring a consistently **positive, upbeat energy** that motivates the team and enhances the guest experience.

**Operations Management**
- Build and manage weekly FOH schedules with a focus on fairness and efficiency.
- Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory control for FOH/bar operations.
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and liquor regulations.

**Business & Culture Development**
- Track and report performance metrics (sales, labour, inventory) to ownership.
- Collaborate on taproom events, private bookings, and experience improvements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and pride in service.

- **Humble**: You lead with empathy and openness, always putting the team and guest experience first.
- **Driven**: You’re self-motivated, proactive, and committed to improving people and processes.
- **Hospitality-Focused**: You understand the power of warm, personal service — and deliver it consistently.
- **Weekend-Ready**: You’re available to work **Fridays and Saturdays**, and you bring your best when the taproom is at its busiest.

**Qualifications**:

- 2+ years of bar, restaurant, or hospitality management experience
- Strong bartending and customer service skills in high-volume settings
- Skilled in scheduling, inventory, and team development
- Proficiency with POS systems (Square is a plus)
- Serving It Right (required)
- Bonus: Event planning experience, knowledge of craft beer, or small business operations

Compensation & Career Perks
- **Salary**: $48,000-$54,000 annually (based on experience) + pooled tips
- **Health Benefits**: Full extended medical and dental after 3 months
- **Perks**: Shift meals, beer perks, merch discounts
- **Career Growth**: Expand your skill set in leadership, operations, and brand-building
- **Advancement Path**: Potential to grow into broader operations or multi-location leadership roles
- **Work Culture**: Join a tight-knit, fun-loving team that values creativity, hustle, and heart
