We are seeking for motivated people to fill FTTH labourer positions within our team.

This position is based in Edson, AB.

**Position Summary**

The FFTH labourer supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilitie**s
- Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and operation of fiber jetting equipment.
- Safely operate other small machinery as required, including but not limited to trenchers, vibratory ploughs, generators and compressors.
- Handle physical aspects of the job, including digging trenches, laying and connecting conduit/cables, and installing equipment.
- Read and interpret project documents and ensure that the work performed is in accordance with the documents.
- Collaborate with supervisor and team to ensure the timely completion of the project.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols, to maintain company standards and a secure working environment.
- At all times, be professional and courteous to co-workers, clients, landowners, and other general members of the public.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficiency of telecommunications equipment.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in telecommunications operations such as trucks, radios, drills, screwdrivers, shovels, rakes, spades, hammers, etc.
- Safely load and unload machinery onto / off trailer.
- Drive truck with trailers attached to haul equipment and machinery to sites.
- Safeguard company property and take all reasonable steps to prevent theft, loss, or damage.
- Ensure the truck is stocked daily with the required tools such as rakes, shovels, spades, saws etc.
- Assist in the documentation of project details, including tracking of materials used and providing as-built markups of work performed.
- Track and report any workplace incidents that occur through the Incident Check software portal.
- Attend/participate in tailgate meeting, assist in keeping the worksite clean and organized.
- Set up, re-position and dismantle traffic specific signage.
- Protect workers and the public by keeping workspace free of traffic, and warning oncoming traffic of potential hazards.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in labor-intensive roles, preferably in telecommunications or related field.
- Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and demanding environments doing heavy lifting, shoveling, and using wheelbarrows.
- Basic understanding of telecommunications systems and equipment.
- Experience towing trailers is an asset.
- Out-of-town work is required.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
