Analyst, Business I

:
Business Analysts I represent the business community and IT in prioritizing, analyzing and documenting business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement/enhancements and negotiating agreements and commitments between business partners (internal and external) and IT from requirements gathering to final implementation and maintenance. Business Analysts I work directly with clients/leadership at various levels within the company and with outside parties to research and identify operational business requirements with sufficient detail and clarity to allow IT staff to collaboratively develop the solution.
- Act as a Business/SME liaison back to the business leadership or IT Staff to influence, manage change, and educate for priority setting to ensure business commitments and objectives are met.
- Participate in cross-functional work sessions with both the business and IT customers to capture stakeholder needs and required system requirements/features.
- Involved in creating the Project Charter, SLA’s and Statements of Work.
- Partners with the Project Manager while identifying resources to accomplish the goals and objectives of the project.
- Participate in development, documentation and analysis of detailed functional requirements via system Use Cases and Use Case Realizations.
- Participate in the development of system solution design for existing and new capabilities using a thorough understanding of business process and requirements as well as system capabilities and architecture.
- Participate in multi-departmental, small to medium projects and change initiatives.
- Initiate problem analysis, explore solutions, prepare and present information.
- Participate in client meetings and engages clients when appropriate.
- Provide customer support and post implementation monitoring during initial rollout.
- Conduct and assist Quality Assurance with development of testing criteria.

**Responsibilities**:

- Draft business requirements that clearly describe the functions, goals, and metrics required to translate into technical requirements.
- Familiarity with and ability to understand testing methods. Create test scripts that track back to requirements.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations when necessary.
- Diagnose and track down any functional issues to a root or functional cause.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, internal partners, customers, and others through the use of good interpersonal skills.
- Coordinate with respective areas to resolve issues and develop processes to accomplish shared goals.
- Complete and submit accurate status reports in a timely manner.
- Effectively deal with change in a fast-paced demanding environment while maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- 1 to 3 years experience as a business analyst.
- Experience with Use Case development.
- Experience at working independently or assisting senior analyst in the design of technical business processes.
- Experience with Project Management Methodology (PMM) including the development of project documentation.
- Experience with basic understanding of JAD/JAR sessions required to participate and assist with the functional and technical requirements gathering process.
- Experience with analytical tools and flowcharting tools such as Visio.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Competent and good understanding of Windows.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle Methodology (SDLC).
- Basic Testing knowledge and associated testing cycles helpful.
- Good working knowledge of current Internet, Intranet, Extranet technologies and familiarity with client server architectures.
- Good communication skills (written & oral).
