And that helps my physical and mental health." **Job Summary**:The Behaviour Support Worker promotes positive behaviours and supports health, wellness and belonging for the 15 residents at Indwell’s Railway City Lofts Program in St.Thomas, Ontario. They will participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team supporting the therapeutic rehabilitation and care for individuals within the program with a specific focus on assessments and interventions related to behaviours. This is a specialized housing program serving individuals who have experienced long term housing instability and/or long stay hospitalizations. They will also occasionally support Indwell’s two London Programs (Woodfield Gate and Embassy Commons) with behaviour therapy assessments and interventions. **Hours of Work**:Full time contract for approximately 12 months - 40 hours per week.Flexibility is required to meet program needs, including public holidays. Participation in the shared 24/7 on-call schedule is required. This position requires travel between St. Thomas and London Indwell. **Duties For This Position Include**: - **Interdisciplinary teamwork** - Crucial to housing stability and health, wellness and belonging of our residents, is the ability of our staff members to work collaboratively with each discipline to offer support. - Support staff in responding to resident or tenant behaviours, provide reinforcement or redirection when necessary; may also include ensuring consistency of behaviour tracking - Debrief with staff after behaviour occurrences and check in with previous shift regarding behaviours and debrief as needed - Analyze data to determine if new Behaviour Intervention Plans or adjustments are needed - Demonstrate positive relationships within the Indwell team and promote the vision, mission and values of Indwell within the workplace and community - Keep apprised of new research and developments relevant to behaviour therapy, through workshops, journals, websites, and literature. Transfer knowledge back to the team and tenants in the most effective manner available - Use appropriate procedures when responding to emergency situations - Ensure your own health & safety, that of tenants and co-workers by adhering to health & safety standards - Complete required safety checks and inspections as assigned - Attend and participate in all required training to maintain and develop new skills - **Relationship building** - Building long-term therapeutic relationships with residents or tenants, using a harm reduction approach, supporting trauma informed care, and promoting hope and trust. - Develop, contribute to, and carry out individual tenant support plans, including any relevant assessment tools, or external referrals - Developing and facilitating relevant individual or group programming - Reinforcing tenants’ life skills, including spiritual, social, coping, and daily living skills. - **Participation in Daily program tasks** - Medication administration, respond to resident needs, apartment checks, supply and track harm reduction materials, distribute daily meals, participate in team meetings and the on-call rotation, record daily shift notes, and other duties as required. - Confident in utilizing crisis management and intervention skills. - Understand the Landlord Tenant Board process - Participate in creating a safe and healthy environment. - Maintaining and organizing resident or tenant files which may include behaviour support plans, behaviour tracking data, consents, and/or service planning. Proficiency in excel forms an asset. - Assist in the orientation and support of staff, students and volunteers. - Attend and actively participate in team meetings and other agency meetings as required. - **Intake - Assisting with admission and orientation of new residents** **Education/Experience**:Post-second
