We are united by our shared value to serve a bigger purpose than ourselves. **Role Expectations & Summary**: Our Individuals living at our "Hawkmount" group home are looking for Community Support Worker for their daily needs. The expected diagnoses for the Individual are cerebral palsy, severe Developmental Delays, dementia, scoliosis, blind and deaf. Individuals may display physical behaviour of concerns and behavioural support plans will be provided to advance and achieve Individual's goals. The position requires full support for Individuals with hygiene routines, meal preparation, program activities, house chores, getting groceries, and medication administration. We are also looking for someone who is comfortable driving in all quadrants of Calgary. This position will require driving and attending medical appointments, sporting activities such as swimming, etc. **About You**: You are compassionate, attentive, and passionate towards working with people with disabilities. You are comfortable with providing full personal care, participating in social and recreational activities, advocating for the Individual in the community, and encouraging healthy living styles & social interactions. You have a good knowledge of community events and activities that could be useful to integrate the Individuals. You are professional, take ownership, and willing to follow agency's policies and procedures. You are solution driven, where you can identify the need of support for the Individual's apprehensions/concerns. You are willing to take the time to understand and know your Individual and act/respond in their best interest, while maintaining professional boundaries. You have previous experience working with Individuals with disabilities; therefore, you are willing to research, develop, and implement programs to provide for growth the Individual. You can easily manage administrative work to create rapports for the Individual. **Schedule & Benefits**: This permanent position is 20 hours/week at our "Hawkmount" group home, which is in Northwest (NW) area of Calgary. The starting pay rate for this position will be $21.19 with potential of getting a raise after the annual evaluation. After a three month probationary period, you would quality for benefits. The start date will be March 31, 2025. **The schedule will be from**: - Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday: 4:00pm-9:00pm - Monday, Tuesday, Friday: Off **Minimum Requirements**: - Minimum of a Diploma in the Human Services sector or Disability Sector (equivalencies will be considered, programs completed internationally may require a WES or IQAS assessment). Accepted programs include, but not limited to: psychology, nursing sociology, social work, criminal justice, education, disability studies, addictions, etc) - Must provide valid class 5 drivers license and have a reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance - Intermediate in computer skills and administration skills - Provide medical, technological, environmental, physical, and behavioural support - Minimum required training in Emergency First Aid & CPR Level A **Preferred Requirements**: - Previous knowledge regarding Autism Spectrum & Developmental Delays would be an asset - Previously trained and have the knowledge of medication administration - One to two years relevant experience in the human services field would be an asset - Relevant trainings such as Non-violent Crises Intervention, Abuse Prevention Response Protocol, and Positive Behavior Supports, etc. - Additional training requirements upon hiring would be back care and lifting training, ostomy and g-tube care, personal care training, use of lift and slings
