This includes using techniques and strategies to communicate “I care and I respect you,” providing information in a way patients and families can understand, listening to patients and families to learn what an exemplary healthcare experience means to them, and seeking their perspective throughout their stay and during improvement initiatives. **Qualifications**: - Successful completion of a Post Secondary Program preferred - Graduate of Health Sciences Program preferred **Skill, Ability and Experience**: - Basic proficiency in the use of computers required - Physical ability to meet the demands of the position required - Knowledge of proper lifting techniques required - Experience with ORMED software preferred - Hospital supply inventory experience preferred - Warehousing experience preferred - Shipping and Receiving experience preferred - Experience using a handheld bar code scanner preferred - Recent experience in a related position requiring adherence to strict timelines, meeting conflicting demands and differentiating between large numbers of products preferred **Principal Duties**: - Stores and issues materials, supplies, equipment, and linen; takes inventories; recommends modification to quotas; compiles stock records - Unpacks or uncrates items received - Inspects items for damage or defects - Verifies accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, code numbers to invoice or packing slip and purchase order - Records or reports discrepancies or damage in shipment and signs bills of lading - Carries or conveys by hand truck - Periodically takes physical count of stock on hand and verifies count with inventory controls totals - Uses computerized inventory system - Receives requests for supplies, selects stock inventory, distributes supplies to designated areas - Delivers Linens to user departments according to pre-established par levels and schedules - Uses handheld scanner to order and track supplies - Communicates regularly with PROcure - Follow-up on back-ordered items - Other related duties as assigned Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement We thank you in advance for your interest in Bluewater Health, however, only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
