What You Will Do: The development focus of the PTA role may shift between core activities of trust, POA and estate administration duties, and estate planning and settlement responsibilities according to the needs of the region from time to time. Role Responsibilities: - Conducts client facing administration for a book of Trust and Power of Attorney accounts - Assists with Estate Administrative duties where needed, according to level of knowledge - Prepares MDPT trust account documentation and related forms ensuring thoroughness, accuracy and consistency to be forwarded to Central Administration (Home Office) - Reviews invoices for payment and financial requests from beneficiaries - Identifies matters requiring the exercise of trustee/attorney discretion, and participates in the discretionary decision - Manages relationships proactively, including conducting period reviews with clients - Takes efficient and timely actions to meet/exceed MDPT’s client service commitments - Communicates regularly with MDPT Team Members both informally and formally, to ensure efficient and timely flow of information to all interested parties. - Conveys technical material in a manner that is understandable, orally and in writing - Travels frequently within territory - Maintains appropriate client records on information systems - Arranges initial client meetings to obtain key documents required for the administration - Prepares and sends initial estate documentation and related forms ensuring thoroughness, accuracy and consistency to Home Office to commence with administration activities - Follows relevant provincial legislation and MD policy during the settlement process - Networks and promotes MDPT services to MDFS and clients to develop immediate estate and trust business against specific Estate &Trust asset targets. - Conducts regular review of client’s Will and estate plan to ensure plan is current with client circumstances/needs as well as relevant legislation and tax regulations - Networks internally to foster relationships and ensure the value of all MDPT Estate and Trust services is promoted and well understood - Participates in internal meetings and client seminars explaining the value of estate planning and MDPT estate/trust services - Participates in discovery meetings and work with ETA and other advisors within the team to develop the client’s annual service plan - Educates the team on the opportunities and benefits of MDPT’s estate and trust services and the type of client suitable for the service - Participates in engaging clients and advocating to raise awareness of and fully utilizing MDPS’s complete value proposition - Always acts in the best interest of clients - Provides the appropriate level of service and advice to clients and their families based on the MDPS client service segmentation model What You Need: - University Degree or Equivalent - 2+ years of experience in financial services environment, with direct client contact - Strong client relationship management experience - Commitment to complete the CETA 1: Foundations of estate and trust administration - Commitment to enrol in STEP, TEP or CETA program, according to development path - Working knowledge of legal documents (Wills, Trust Deeds and POA) is an asset - Knowledge of securities, trust systems and trust reporting is an asset What You Bring: - Stewardship of the client experience - Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with particular emphasis on dealing with sensitive and difficult client situations in a gracious and professional manner - Integrity and trust - Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team - Proven networking, business development and sales skills - Highly professional demeanor - Well organized, goal driven and action oriented, with solid follow through capabilities What Success Looks Like: - You are passionate about the MD value proposition. - You are constantly learning and honing your skills. - You are technology savvy or Willing to Learn - You feel rewarded and recognized in a way that inspires you to do your best work.
