**Job description**

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary training in occupational health and safety
- Accredited credentials in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NCSO, CRSP, CHSC)
- Strong understanding of Western Canadian occupational health and safety legislation and regulation, in particular for Alberta, and British Columbia
- Willing to satisfy and maintain ACSA COR training and auditor accreditation
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and constructive discussions, to engage individuals and influence behaviour
- Effectively manage and deal with private and sensitive personal information
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Superior organization, prioritization, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

**Job Duties**
- Administer Waterline’s H&S program including managing the necessary safety data and statistics to support internal and external reporting needs (e.g., ISNet, ComplyWorks, Avetta)
- Contribute to the ongoing review and update of Health and Safety policies and procedures, and associated staff training
- Contribute to the health and safety onboarding process for new staff
- Conduct investigations in response to incidents and contribute to the review of near miss and hazard identifications to prioritize process/policy/training revisions or enhancements for continuous improvement of Waterline’s H&S program
- Develop, organize, or coordinate staff training, and ensure training is completed and documented
- Support the review and selection of contractors through Health and Safety screening
- Participate in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee
- Coordinate workplace inspections
- Conduct internal audits, and support external audits for the maintenance of our COR program
- Develop and implement action plans to respond to audit outcomes, to continue to improve Waterline’s safety program and procedures
