The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), under the authority of the Emergency Management Act, leads the coordination and co-operation of all organizations involved in emergencies and disasters. This includes emergency and disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.

AEMA is accountable and responsible to the GoA, to Albertans, to their communities, and to industry for the protection of people, their property, and the environment from the effects of emergency events. Alberta relies on a decentralized “system” for managing the various types of emergency events that occur every year. The AEMA accomplishes its objectives by leading the co-ordination, collaboration, and co-operation between all entities involved in prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery activities within this diverse system.

The Alberta 911 Program is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented 911 Program Analyst to help lead the province’s transition to Next Generation 911 (NG911). **About the Role**
Reporting to the 911 Program Manager, you will play a key role in modernizing Alberta’s emergency response systems by supporting the transition to NG911 and advancing the province’s 911 standards and grant program. Your work will directly support the delivery of fast, reliable, and future-ready emergency services by working with diverse stakeholders, conducting critical research, and supporting effective oversight and compliance with provincial legislation and standards. **You will be responsible for**:

- Supporting Alberta’s transition to NG911 by consulting with stakeholders, preparing briefings, and advising on system impacts
- Developing public education materials to strengthen awareness of NG911 developments
- Researching 911 best practices, emerging standards, and legislative changes at local, provincial, and national levels
- Interpreting and analyzing 911 program guidelines and grant reporting trends to support decision-making
- Helping unserved communities establish 911 services
- Assisting with monitoring and enforcing standards compliance, including supporting site audit visits of public safety answering point (PSAP) and reviewing compliance-related documents
- Supporting continuous improvement of grant program and funding structures by analyzing spending trends
- Collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to resolve complex or politically sensitive issues
- Supporting the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre during emergency events, including extended or irregular hours
