Angel Wings Daycare Center is a small, private school designed for the young child. Our bright, clean and safe facility is located at 7444 Edmonds Street, Burnaby, right opposite the Edmonds Community Centre. Angel Wings Daycare Center is a licensed Multi-Age Group daycare which accepts children between 0 to 5 years of age. Our facility is fully renovated and divided into 2 classrooms for daycare, preschool and infant/toddler education.
We are currently seeking for an ECEA who is responsible for guiding and caring children from 0-5 years old. The ECEA will assist children with nurturing development and cognitive skills such as physical, mental, and social development. The ECEA supervises activities to always ensure the health and safety of children. The ECEA shall foster cooperative social behaviour through forming satisfying relationships with children and other adults. The ECEA encourages students in signing, dancing, rhythmic activities, and in use of art materials, to promote self-expression and appreciation of aesthetic experience. The ECEA instructs children in practices of personal cleanliness and self care. The ECEA alternates children through periods of strenuous activity with periods of rest or light activity to avoid overstimulation and fatigue.
**Working Conditions**:
- Regular to frequent requirement, and as needed, to lift children (up to 45 lbs.), including bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing, and pulling, and sitting and walking.
- Noise level can be moderate to loud.
- Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, and supporting students.
- Overtime as required.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Establish an inclusive and safe program that upholds the mental, physical and emotional safety and well-being of the children
2. Provide a supportive environment that role models safe care-giving practices and provides learning opportunities for parents when applicable
3. Provide parents with updates on their children’s progress/development in the program using a variety of communication mediums
4. Provide nutritionally valuable foods for the children following Food Safe standards and guidelines
5. Value maintaining a clean, organized and visually attractive work space
6. Be aware of and strive to maintain the policies and procedures created and implemented by AWDC
7. Adhere to BC Child Care Regulations
8. Report any concerns to the Supervisor
**Job Requirements**
- Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program or post-secondary courses in early childhood education and hold a valid ECEA or ECE Certificate that meets BC’s Provincial Child Care Licencing Regulation
- Experience in child care is required.
- Criminal Record Check is required
- First Aid Certification is required
- Physician’s Declaration and Immunization Record is required
- Basic Computer Literacy
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- High level of energy and patience
- Genuinely committed to helping children learn
- Ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks
**Job Type**: Permanent and Full Time
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
**Salary**: Starting from $18 per hour
