Mobile Dog Groomer

We are seeking to expand our team of compassionate Urban Pooch’s Pet Care Mobile Dog Groomers. Clients from time to time will be provided to you. We also provide a marketing kit for you to generate your own clients close to your home. We offer 24/7, 365 days a year service to our clients so there is the possibility for irregular hours and weekend work with this role. Since this is a mobile role, the ability to transport between clients in various locations is required. There is also the requirement that you bring your own grooming toolkit to be able to complete the service (including cleanup) in its entirety. Clients will provide space to work (bathroom) and dog’s shampoo. However, everything else will need to be brought by you.Are you compassionate? Are you passionate about social change? - Provide professional grooming services for a variety of dog breeds, ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of each pet.-
- Perform basic grooming tasks, including bathing, cutting, brushing and nail trimming while adhering to breed-specific standards and client preferences.-
- Assess the health and condition of dogs' coats, skin, ears, and nails, and communicate any concerns to pet owners.-
- Handle dogs with care, using appropriate techniques to ensure a positive grooming experience for each animal.-
- Stay informed about current grooming trends, styles, and techniques to offer diverse and up-to-date services.-
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the grooming area, including equipment sterilization and proper disposal of waste.-
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their specific requests and providing personalized grooming services.-
- Educate pet owners on at-home grooming and maintenance practices to promote the overall well-being of their pets.-
- Keep accurate records of each dog's grooming history, special requirements, and any health-related observations.-
- Monitor and report any unusual behavior or health issues exhibited by dogs during grooming sessions.-
- Maintain open and effective communication with clients, addressing their concerns and requests professionally.-
- Promote the Urban Pooch’s Grooming Service as a Brand Ambassador.**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Proven experience as a dog groomer, with a strong understanding of various dog breeds and their grooming needs.-
- Knowledge of grooming tools, techniques, and products, along with the ability to use them effectively.-
- Own grooming tools required to perform the tasks of the job.-
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with pet owners and understand their preferences.-
- Patience and a gentle, compassionate approach when handling dogs, especially those with anxiety or behavioral challenges.-
- Certification from a recognized grooming school or equivalent experience is preferred.-
- Genuine love and compassion for dogs.-
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.-
- Good understanding of canine behavior and basic obedience.-
- Access to a smartphone for scheduling and communication purposes.-
- Access to reliable transportation.-
- Experience meeting and surpassing sales targets is a plus.-
- Experience volunteering is also a plus.-
- A passion for a social cause.-
