The QA Analyst will be responsible for the following:
- Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instructions such as microscopes, centrifuges, agitators, analytical balances, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and other equipment.
- Record test results on standardized forms and write test reports describing procedures used. Prepare and maintain graphs, charts, and electronic databases.
- Maintain a clean and sterile work environment at all times, with strict adherence to environmental, safety, and quality standards and legislative requirements.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated to the required specifications.
- Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications and standards.
- Comply with the organization’s environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts, and quality assurance policies and standards.
- Deal with third laboratory parties' results and requests
- Update/Maintain inventory of required lab supplies and order accordingly.
- Develop/Implement any laboratory procedures that are required
- Analyze laboratory test data to provide trends and appropriate recommendations or solutions.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control tests including sampling and testing of raw materials, water, air, and finished products.
- Verify processes and procedures to ensure compliance with established requirements.
- Audit and verify product quality and specifications
- Monitor and verify HACCP and Food Safety Programs for effectiveness, including holding of non-conforming products.
- Identify and communicate required corrective actions and propose preventative measures.
- Reporting, documentation, and training
- Maintain accurate quality assurance records of testing
- Trend and analyze equipment parameters and product data.
- Assist in Environmental Program implementation and monitoring
- Perform any other duties as required and support production when needed
- Weekend/Holiday and extended hours might be needed
The following are the qualifications for this position:
- A degree/diploma in a Science related discipline (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or Biological Sciences). A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- High degree of testing and analytical skills
- HACCP/GMP knowledge is required.
- Knowledge of the use and performance of required laboratory tools and equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to establish priorities and work independently
