**Position**:
The Umbrella Society for Addictions and Mental Health works with individuals, and their loved ones, struggling with substance use issues. Umbrella is a flexible and responsive outreach organization that recognizes the needs of people struggling with addictions and mental health challenges.

The successful applicant will be joining a team-based program that offers harm reduction and recovery services within our transitional housing sites.

**Qualifications**:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to establish and maintain healthy relationships and provide general support to the residents in a variety of transitional housing sites Umbrella works at. The applicant will have excellent spoken and written communication skills and work effectively and non-judgementally with a broad range of personalities, needs, cultures and abilities.

This person must be self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team, with mínimal supervision while maintaining an awareness of when to seek out direction, consultation, and support from management. In addition, this role witnesses, supports, educates, and provides supplies to individuals who are using substances, and must be comfortable around open drug use, but also be comfortable discussing and suggesting recovery options when initiated by the client.

It would be considered an asset if the applicant had general knowledge of local resources, including hospitals, addictions treatment, other clinical community resources, housing, income assistance, legal and criminal justice resources, and supports for family members.

This position requires standing for long periods of time, walking the sites and perimeters and some light lifting (under 20 pounds).

**Salary**: From $23.00 per hour
