Will be hiring for multiple Resource staff with a start date as soon as possible. We are hiring for staff to work at the following locations
- Pickering (Gandy Before and After School Age Program), Oshawa (Vincent Massey), Bowmanville
- multiple sites and positions

Rate of Pay is $21.30 per hour.

The role of the **Enhanced Staff / Resource Staff**is:

- to be an enhancement to the child care staff, not to be included in regular class ratios. Available to complete jobs as needed, so ratios are not affected, such as supply gathering, helping a child needing a change of clothing, etc.
- to be a member of the team that is responsible for the plans and goals so that all staff have a chance to aid the child/children in working on speech and language, social/ play, self-help skills etc.
- to provide opportunities for all the program staff to interact with the child/children with special needs by carrying on with washroom routines (**some diapering may be necessary**), finishing a story or game, cleaning up creative and play areas.
- to interact, respond positively and encourage opportunities for success for all the children in the program by making changes to a game, activity, or by helping hand over hand.
- to provide support and assistance to the regular program staff of the child care center.
- to promote independence of child / children with special needs to help keep up with all aspects of the program including snack times, washroom and outdoor play.
- to be knowledgeable of and comply with the Policies and Procedures of the center.
- to suggest ideas, participate in discussions and attend staff meetings as required assisting with the inclusion of the child / children with special needs into the regular programmed activities.
