The Housekeeping Aide (HA) is responsible for performing cleaning duties within the Home in accordance with established safety and infection control procedures under the supervision of the Manager of Environmental Services. The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for carrying out their job duties in a safe and professional manner within the scope of their position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Follow routine protocols to clean and maintain any required areas in the facility.
- Operating and caring for housekeeping machinery, including keeping work area clean/tidy, reporting repairs, requisitioning, and stocking the work area as needed.
- Safe handling of chemicals according to WHMIS guidelines, and ensuring all chemicals are kept in a locked area between uses.
- Protect confidential data or information regarding residents.
- Adhere to occupational health and safety standards, infection control guidelines, any legislation and sanitation codes, as applicable.
- Participate in annual education, required in-services, and adheres to St. Joseph’s at Flemings policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 12 Educations/GED or equivalent
- Experience and knowledge in proper institutional housekeeping procedures an asset
- Must be available to work weekends, statutory holidays, and varied shifts
- Experience working in Long-Term Care field an asset
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

**Salary**: $19.90-$21.05 per hour
