Job Overview
Duties
- Maintain required logbooks.
- Operate heavy trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all local, provincial, and federal regulations regarding transportation.
- Operate equipment as required for loading and unloading.
- Provide warehouse assistance when not performing driving duties.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Monday to Friday. Weekends off.
- Alberta routes only
**Requirements**:
- Valid Alberta Class 1 Drivers’ License with Q endorsement.
- Ability to pass a road test (third-party administered).
- Successful completion of a criminal history check.
- Pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
- Provide and maintain a clean 5-year commercial driver’s abstract.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ driving experience.
- Attention to detail in maintaining records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Load securement experience and competent in freight handling procedures.
- Ability and willingness to work in environments with marked temperature changes.
- Capable of physical labor, including lifting items up to 25kg on a regular basis.
- Must be able to chain up as required.
- Responsible for compliance with Health & Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, and Environmental Standards at all times.
