**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Manager, Venue and Sales oversees all event services in the TMU-SC / Oakham House with a focus on sales and championing the client experience journey. Alongside the Executive Director and Senior Staff, the Manager, Venue and Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and service strategies and procedures to make The Palin Foundation a competitive and thriving venue in downtown Toronto. This role also includes managing the workflow and growth of the Conference Coordinator, and events services staff.

**DUITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Operational Management _
- Create an above-and-beyond service experience for clients and champion the cultivation of a culture that upholds exceptional service standards
- Train and prepare staff with the tools necessary to execute high-level service (comprehensive plans, documentation, communication, post-event reports)
- Oversee event set up as required and act as a point of contact for troubleshooting, execution, and delegation of activities
- Organize, create, and distribute curated floor plans and scale set-up diagrams for specific furniture layouts that optimize room space and client needs
- Prepare documents and compile any forms needed in the daily operation of managing event services
- Work as the primary administrator of the Event Management Software (Mazevo) and ensure its maintained and properly utilized by all staff
- Consult with clients that require more advanced set-ups, specific audio-visual needs or layout advice
- Ensure proper function of event equipment through regular maintenance and arrange for repairs and upgrades as needed
- Manage inventory and order products (beverages, linen, AV equipment, furniture, etc.)
- Complete event and sales reports as needed
- Collaborate with Senior Staff with the creation and revision of policies as needed
- Team Management _
- Responsible for all employee relations within events services, including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion/demotion, discipline, discharge, scheduling, and related matters
- Create and implement policies and procedures that focus on developing staff to perform at a professional service level
- Supervise staff leads and ensure they are provided with clear and detailed listing of daily event listings and weekly contracts
- Review daily logs as appropriate (7Shifts) and address issues as needed
- Responsible for scheduling of all service staff
- Train staff on all appropriate software and equipment as needed
- Responsible for following the Collective Agreement
- Ensure compliance with of all Palin Foundation policies
- Attend staff meetings and other meetings as scheduled or required
- Manage the workflow and growth of the Conference Coordinator, and all event staff
- Financial Management _
- Manage the event service spends in accordance with the board approved foundation budget
- Produce and assess annual operating budgets and capital purchases
- Create and update reports regarding revenue, occupancy, cost analysis, and client data to assess the effectiveness of our events services and implements changes to drive profit
- Sales & Revenue Generation _
- A focus on developing and expanding new business
- Analyze sales statistics and adjust operations as needed
- Create assessments regarding customer service, satisfaction, and effectiveness of our event services to make appropriate recommendations (customer feedback forms, questionnaires, etc.)
- Be aware of industry trends and ensure the foundation is competitive in the market
- Collaborate with Manager, Marketing and Communication to develop, implement and regularly review promotional, advertising and informational campaigns pertaining to event service ope
