**Job Overview**:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for guiding and ensuring positive employee and labour relations, coaching managers on effective leadership behaviours and actions, and advising management on organizational structure, hiring, and terminations. The HRBP will be a point of contact for managers on using the HRIS effectively, including reporting and metrics, and will work with the HR team on various projects and initiatives regarding onboarding, employee engagement, recognition, leave management, performance management, and compensation.
Domus (a division of Alpine) operates primarily in Ontario. This role may support managers and employees throughout Alpine as well, within Ontario.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead the HR function, including recruitment and selection, performance management, labour relations, Security, health & safety, claims management, and benefit inquiries
- Manage HR coordinator / Recruiter who is responsible for interviews, hiring and reliability level clearances.
- Prepare and review all communication with staff: discipline, termination, recognition, etc.
- Conduct regular meetings with Operations and other departments in order to provide support and guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, and labour relations.
- Manage the health and safety program (in collaboration with HR Coordinator) to build a culture of “ZERO Accidents”. Update policies annually. Perform Supervisory and Health and Safety training as required.
- Manage and investigate all work-related incidents; Prepare documentation for WSIB and ensure communication with WSIB for each case, and the Ministry of Labour (where required). Manage the return-to-work program and reinforce the company return to work policy (no lost time).
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Manage and resolve simple employee relations issues, and escalates complex employee relations issues to the senior HR team members for consultation and resolution. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Establish positive relationships with union representatives and manages labour relations issues effectively.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identify training needs for managers in order to develop effective leadership skills

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in human resources management.
- Relevant post-secondary degree, or relevant combination of experience and education.
- Both hands-on and strategic ability, able to support the creation and implementation of a strategic plan.
- Strong emotional intelligence.
- Strong learning agility, with ability to learn quickly.
- Resourceful, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence, persuade, and establish positive relationships at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience or proficiency in HRIS, especially Dayforce.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in a unionized environment an asset.
- CHRP an asset but not required.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Reliable transportation to various sites required.

**Working Conditions**:
The majority of this role requires work on-site at the company Head Office or at various locations throughout ON to conduct investigations, provide coaching/support, and facilitate learning. This position generally works Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Eastern time but may occasionally require some additional hours on evenings and weekends as needed. Remote/Work-from-home will available on a one day per week basis if work requirements are able to be met.
