**Project Coordinator - Mechanical and Electrical Commercial Construction**

**Job Summary**:
As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting Project Managers and ensuring the smooth execution of commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for coordinating schedules, managing project documentation, communicating with stakeholders, assisting with budgeting and procurement. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced open office environment.

**Job description**

**OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist in planning, scheduling, organizing and coordination projects from start finish
- Provide project related administrative support to Project Managers, Project Teams, and Site Superintendents
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met
- Organize and distribute project-related documents and drawings from manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain project documentation including contracts, permits, change orders, RFIs, drawings and compliance records
- Set up and maintain project share points for drawings and site specific information
- Create, log and track all necessary communication and documentation related to assigned projects to include safety documents.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and vendors when required.
- Actively participate; prepare and distribute project reports, meeting minutes, and status updates
- Participate in project reviews to foster continuous and process improvements
- Complete end of project Owners and Maintenance Manuals

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- You must have previous experience in the construction industry in the area of commercial mechanical and/or electrical trades, construction coordination, or project administration Or;
- A degree certificate or diploma in construction management, engineering or a related field is an asset
- Knowledge of commercial construction processes, permitting and industry regulations
- 3+ years' Project Coordination experience within the Construction or Mechanical Contracting industry is preferred.
- Previous exposure and experience working on residential high-rise/mid-rise, commercial, or related projects is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, JONAS or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (power point, outlook, word, excel)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills coupled with strong reading and writing skills.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop long-lasting and sustainable productive working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, contractors, and stakeholders associated to projects.
- Driven individual with a strong sense of urgency. Comfortable in working within a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of budgeting and cost tracking in construction projects
- Energetic individual who works effectively within a team, but also on their own initiative.
