**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a **Manager, IT Business Partner Commercial **to join our **Information & Operational Technology** team in Toronto.

This is a permanent hybrid position.

As a Manager, IT Business Partner Commercial, you will serve as the crucial link between the Information Technology function and Commercial Team at VBM. This covers teams based in North Atlantic, South Atlantic, and APAC regions. This role will be immersed in the business, building deep relationships to understand business processes related to our Commercial capabilities globally. Your experience and skills will allow you proactively build a multi-year IT/OT and Data Strategy and an associated Roadmap that fits the needs of this business area. This strategy and roadmap will identify solutions to deliver value to Commercial function through IT.

Additionally, in this position you will:

- Build and maintain deep relationships and knowledge of the business, being embedded in the business to have a profound understanding of the business’s strategy, roadmap, and pressing challenges
- Travel across North and South Atlantic sites to get to know operations deeply, work closely with leaders and experts across Commercial and Operations, develop an understanding of the business needs, and provide advice on IT systems and investments needed for the Commercial team
- Shape and manage demand intake by working with the business to develop business cases and identifying the products and services that can assist the business areas with their needs
- Lead the IT/OT governance forum for Commercial, hosting a recurring routine in collaboration with Sales and Marketing, Logistics, Integrated Business Planning leadership to review and prioritize IT initiatives and provide input into the overall IT Steering Committee governance forum.
- Develop an IT/OT and Data Strategy and Roadmap for VBM Commercial, covering the business needs in integrated business planning, sales and marketing, logistics. Collaborate with other IT BPs to ensure that other functions’ roadmaps integrate well into the Commercial roadmap.

**About You**

**Education**:

- An undergraduate degree in Commerce, Engineering or Information Technology (IT) is required.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 10 years of IT experience with 5+ years of mining industry or similar heavy industry experience.

**Skills**:

- Experience managing IT/OT relationship with the business with strong ability to build and maintain relationships
- Deep understanding of Commercial business processes in Mining & Metals industry or similar heavy industries
- Ability to build a multi-year technology roadmap, and secure sponsorship and support from all required stakeholders to approve funding and execution
- Ability to align IT initiatives with business strategies and goals, ensuring IT delivers maximum value
- Experience managing IT budget from planning, forecast, to actuals and variance mgt.
- Ability to ensure day-to-day IT/OT support requirements are consistently met and any issues that arise are resolved in a timely, effective manner
- Ability to ensure IT/OT SLAs within the business area meet the business’ requirements
- Creative problem solver, able to understand business strategy and needs and proactively identify solutions
- Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively convey complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with value management and LEAN concepts / tools.
